Largemouth Bass: known as “America's #1 game fish”, the largemouth bass is a hard fighting, aggressive species that feeds on practically anything that moves. Largemouth bass have a wide mouth (hence the name), and can be gripped on the lower lip when caught. Size: usually 10-20” long and 5lbs but can reach 32” long and 20lbs. Methods: for larger specimens, a medium-heavy rod is recommended, most United States lures can catch largemouths. Surface lures such as frogs work very well especially when casted out into lily pads. The all-time best lure to use when no bass are biting are worms such as the Yamamoto Senko™ and the Bass Pro Shops Stik-o™, these can be jigged across the bottom and bass will bite them when all else fails.
